07/14 — So much that's either new or exciting — or both — is going down in Jets Nation right now, all of which you've heard about: new stadium, second year of Cortland training camp, "Hard Knocks," a defense that plans to defend its No. 1 crown and wants to make NFL history, second year of Rex Ryan at the helm and Mark Sanchez at the offensive controls, new big names, a new draft class, third year of the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center.

So let's add to the new right here online: a redesigned New York Jets Web site.

Really, this change is good. First off, be prepared sometime this afternoon for a new look to newyorkjets.com. The site will definitely feel different. The layout will be cleaner, the navigation more straightforward, the photos and videos larger, crisper and more prominently displayed.

The colors will be sharpened up, with the accents on a verdant Jets green and a silvery framework, all of which reminds me of my first impressions upon entering New Meadowlands Stadium, all greened up with steely call-to-action grace notes.

Here are some specifics of the site's new features:

■ Refined search capabilities.

■ Enhanced video quality with larger screen resolution.

■ Improved photo gallery layout.

■ Integrated fan feedback and player/fan interaction via Facebook, Twitter and our popular Forums.

■ Game center with live play-by-play and real-time statistics.

■ Postgame updated individual player stats.

■ Expanded youth program information and online games for kids.

■ More article/video content available in Spanish.

This redesign is part of a multiyear effort among the NFL and the 32 teams to share some content and provide greater efficiencies for the front end and back end of each team's Web site. But the look is not out of the cookie-cutter mold. Our site will have a different look and feel but it is unique to the Jets.

And the great written, audio, video and photographic content will remain the same.

■ Eric Allen, Nick Gallo and I will still be providing you with our style of information on the team through news stories and Randy's Radar blogs. And your comments to the Radar and to the Forums will continue to be welcomed.

■ EA is doing more work than ever on Jets TV, bringing you exclusive videos of Jets players, coaches and front office personnel, in collaboration with Rich Gentile and his dedicated multimedia staff.

■ Al Pereira will as always be snapping the photos that stir the imagination and will still retreat into his Al-Cove occasionally to present some of the best photos from his vast collection of Jets images.

■ The Jets Flight Crew and director Denise Garvey will provide even more eye-catching action shots and more dazzling poses as they let you into their world of cheering the Green & White on to victory.

There will be some shock of the new for Jets fans as you come on inside, get used to the furniture, slam the doors, find out where the silverware and the towels are now being stored. Some bugs will have to be worked out. We encourage you to let us know what you like and don't like about the site by sending comments to us at the end of this Radar entry or at the end of any blog.

But we feel confident that you'll love the place. The last time we underwent such a facelift was in the months before the 2006 season. I came aboard in March 2007. Some 45 days later we started up the Radar. In the ensuing months and years we increased our audio and video offerings, all with an eye toward enhancing your experience of the New York Jets.

Today we take the next step. Thanks for taking it with us.

"I'm with scjoe, Randy, it's hard to imagine the site getting any better than it is now. The rare times I've visited other sites of teams that interest me slightly, like the Giants, Bills, and Chargers, it's surprising to see how inferior they are. I guess we'll see what's up this afternoon. Also, it will be interesting to see who gets more praise on this site, Sanchez for paying for the flights of the players participating in his West Coast passing drills or Revis for asking for too much money."

"SCJOE is right. It is already one of the best site in sports! Look forward to the new Randy! Have you guys seen the three Hardknocks buzz videos on the Hardknocks site? Pretty cool! Got me pumped up! Can't wait for the season!"
